According to the Twitter user, the billionaire needs to explain why he sells at a higher price in Nigeria but sells it at N1500 in seme, Benin Republic. He tweeted; “Dangote cement is produced in Nigeria . The raw material is sourced locally in Nigeria at almost zero cost. Nothing is imported. Almost zero taxes yet the price of cement is 5,200 Naira in Nigeria and same is sold in Seme, Benin Republic at 1,500 Naira. Julius Abure, national chairman of the Labour Party (LP), says Peter Obi, presidential candidate of the party, will be declared president of Nigeria by the tribunal. Abure spoke while addressing some Nigerians in the United States during a tour of the country. Obi who came third in the presidential election held in February and his party are challenging the outcome of the poll.   They are asking the court to nullify the victory of Bola Tinubu, candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC. Abure, who is on a tour to the United Kingdom and the US, said the judgment by the presidential election petition tribunal, PEPT, is expected to come on or before September 16. “Following Peter Obi’s participation in the 2023 general election, we changed the political narratives in Nigeria. We gave them a run for their money,” he said. “They have murdered sleep and they will sleep no more. They have stolen what is not for them and they will not sleep until we recover it all.”

  Wagner chief Yevgeny Prigozhin has been confirmed dead after genetic analysis of bodies found in Wednesday’s plane crash, Russian officials say. The Investigative Committee (SK) said the identities of all 10 victims had been established and corresponded to those on the flight’s passenger list. Prigozhin’s private jet came down north-west of Moscow on 23 August, killing all those on board. The Kremlin has denied speculation it was to blame for the crash. The SK said it was continuing a criminal investigation. “Molecular-genetic testing has been completed,” it said in a statement. “According to its results, the identities of all 10 deceased have been established, and they correspond to the list published in the flight manifest.” The victims include several senior figures in Wagner, a Russian mercenary group set up by Prigozhin and involved in military operations in Ukraine, Syria and parts of Africa. A Nigerian Air Force aircraft departed Abuja on Sunday afternoon for Paris, France.  The Dassault Falcon 7X, with registration number 5N-FGU, departed the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja at 4.18 pm due to a delay as its Scheduled Time of Departure (STD) was 3 pm. The reason for the delay could not be established at the time of filing this report.   The Defence Headquarters has said troops in various operations across the country killed no fewer than 23 terrorists and arrested 137 criminals. The arrested criminals consist of five kidnappers; 22 oil thieves; one informant among others. The Director, Defence Media Operations, Maj. The oil company disclosed this on Tuesday, in a statement posted on its social media platforms. The company also said three of its crew members are still unaccounted for. “Seplat Energy regrets to announce a serious incident on the Depthwise swamp drilling rig, ‘Majestic’, early this morning. Seplat, the operator of the SEPLAT/NNPCL joint venture, contracted the rig,” the statement reads. “It was in transit to its planned drilling location at Ovhor in Delta state when it capsized.  At least 92 of the 96-member crew are accounted for and safe. However, tragically one fatality occurred during the incident, while three other rig personnel are still missing. “Our thoughts and prayers are with the families and friends of the crew member who sadly lost his life and the three crew members who are still missing at the time of this report.” Seplat also confirmed that their emergency response and rescue efforts are working alongside the rig owner and the authorities to find the missing persons.

  Over 23 personnel of the Nigerian army have been killed following an ambush on a military convoy by gunmen suspected to be terrorists in Niger State.  A military source said that the incident occurred on Monday morning around 5am.  The incident occurred between Zangiwa and Kangara in the state.  According to the source, an army major and two lieutenants with one identified as Y. Alkali were among the victims.  “Nigerian army this morning lost about 23 soldiers, they were ambushed by bandits. One major, two lieutenants were among the victims. In fact, they set some of them ablaze inside the Hilux vehicle,” a soldier told SaharaReporters. Meanwhile, efforts to reach Onyema Nwachukwu, army spokesperson, for comment were unsuccessful as he didn’t respond to his messages sent to  him. 

  According to the country’s president, Jose Maria Neves, “We all should work to restore constitutional order in Niger but in no way through a military intervention or an armed conflict at this point. We should actively engage in talks and resolve issues diplomatically because any military intervention will make the situation worse, turning the region into an explosive zone," Agence France-Presse quoted him as saying. This is too real, Our God is great and awesome. This picture above with a child of one year plus that was picked up by some Soldiers in Sambisa forest. This child was spotted crawling in the bush by some soldiers that thought the child was used by some people to ambush them. They comb the Bush but found no one. So after a while, they watched the child crawled into a big hole after playing, tired and maybe hungry. They followed him gently as he entered the hole. The Soldiers looked inside the hole and saw a decomposed body of a woman from her waist down her feet, while from her stomach to her head was fresh, though dead. This child crawled into the hole when he’s hungry to suck his mother’s breast, after which, he comes out to play. God is wonderful and worthy to be praised. God preserved that part of his mother’s body to feed the child, and only God Almighty knows how long ago it happened. God kept that child day and night from wild animals.   The Nigerian embassy in Niger Republic has countered a viral report (not The PUNCH) that its embassy was burnt down by angry protesters in Niamey, Niger. This was contained in a statement signed by Liti Auwalu, for the Nigeria Ambassador to Niger and made available to our correspondent on Saturday. The statement explained that even though the protesters tried to gain access to the embassy, the Nigerien military and police managed the situation, adding that the embassy is well guarded.
